Happy Monday! I’m excited to be collaborating with Heather of Design Roots today. Using her amazing calligraphy skills, we’ve come up with a few free desktop downloads to help outfit your desktop with a bit of good cheer. (I’m partial to the gold dots, naturally.) Browse through the other designs and find all the download links below. We hope you love ‘em!
Dallas is officially one big ice skating rink right now. “We’re entombed in ice” as the weatherman said, and I’m officially stuck at home. My trip to the beach this weekend has been cancelled, and considering I can’t get my car out of the garage it seems that I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. The power went out last night around 11:30, and luckily came on about half an hour ago (nearly 14 hours later.) I’m currently enjoying a cup of coffee, am charging my cell phone and iPad (just in case) and am settling in to do some work.
Although I’m totally bummed about our trip being canceled, I’m choosing to look on the bright side and plan to tackle a bunch of to do’s and decorate for Christmas. Let’s just hope the power stays on.
Stay Warm + Happy Weekend!
Here is Dallas, we’re hunkering down for a major winter storm. Normally, I’d be all for it and ready to start a fire and snuggle in, but I’m actually supposed to fly out for a weekend away tomorrow. We’ve already changed our flight to later in the day, but if for some reason we can’t get out I’ll likely be drowning my sorrows in a (spiked) version of this. Here’s hoping things don’t get too crazy out there. Stay warm, friends!
It’s been awhile since I’ve done a beauty post and I have some new favorites to share. Today’s round-up is a mix of high and low, ranging from $4 to $26.
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Treatment ($26): I use the tiniest dab of this over this hair serum, and it smoothes everything so well that I can round brush my hair dry and not have to straighten it. It’s a timesaver! (P.S. A little goes a long way.)
NYX Eye Shadow Base ($7): I decided to give this a try and really adore it. It hides discoloration and helps shadow stay all day. (Available at Target.)
Vaseline Healing Hand Cream ($4): My hands are so dry in the winter...this stuff transforms them instantly without being too greasy.
Julep Lip Gloss in Posh ($22): My favorite item on the list! This translucent gloss is the perfect winter shade. I wear it all the time.
Goody Spin Pin ($7 for 2): For the days when I don’t feel like dealing with my hair, I grab this. You just wrap your hair in a bun and spin it through the middle. Easy peasy!
If you have a beauty product that you’re currently loving, please share! I’m always looking for new products to try!
I truly can’t believe that November has come and gone! It was such a special month and one that I’ll always remember since it’s the month we launched our shop in. Although that’s the biggest highlight of the month, here are a few more moments that I loved.
Found the perfect red handbag (c/o Fossil) • Had a creative brainstorming session with Heather over coffee • Scored my favorite ‘Buried Bauble’ purchase to date • Discovered East Hampton Sandwich Co. (and their delicious lobster rolls) • Launched Feathered (!!!) • Made edible acorns with my sis • Wished everything a Happy Thanksgiving alongside my pup • Enjoyed the first fire of the season • Celebrated the birthday of one of my favorite people.
